Ann Parker BA KFRP

Ann is head of Health Kinesiology in the UK and co-ordinator for the Open College Network accredited programme. Ann trained initially with Jane Thurnell-Read and has been practising HK since 1990. Over the intervening years Ann has attended all the advanced HK workshops taught by Dr. Scott and Jane Thurnell-Read.

Ann is a graduate of the Queensland Teachers College, Brisbane, Australia. Ann taught for twelve years in mainstream education in Australia and Canada. During her time in Canada she also ran programmes for adult learners. In 1993, Ann became one of the first three HK teachers in Europe to be authorised by Dr. Jimmy Scott, the founder of HK. Ann has been responsible for training many of the professional HK practitioners working today throughout the UK.

Ann supervises the training of the HK teachers here in the UK and chairs all the internal moderation meetings for quality control of student work and teaching standards. As part of her remit as head of HK UK and co-ordinator of the OCN, she visits HK classes throughout the UK to meet the students and to watch the teachers teach.

Training classes are held at various locations throughout UK including London, Oxford, Bristol, Chesterfield, Newcastle, Glasgow.

Classes can be held in other locations, when there are enough students from the area to make this a practical option.

Ann Parker is a qualified teacher with over 25 years experience including over 12 years teaching complementary therapies here in the UK and in Germany.

Currently head of Health Kinesiology in UK, Ann has trained most of the UK tutors and developed the comprehensive training framework in conjunction with the Open College Network, where she the coordinator for HK UK. All the tutors have a teaching qualification as well as being working therapists. So they have a thorough understanding of both aspects.

My HK training was one of the most comprehensive, challenging and  stimulating that I have ever been privileged to experience. It provided just the right balance of theory and practice integrating the two into a highly professional, progressive training. James Wood

I really enjoyed all the stages of the HK course and I met so many lovely and interesting people whilst studying.  Now, 3 years on, I still have contact with several past students and we have become a lovely supportive network of friends/colleagues.
HK is a fascinating subject to learn and you just keep discovering new insights, the more you do. You also gain the additional benefit of receiving HK yourself as you practise with your fellow students and many of us noticed how our health and well-being improved as the course progressed.
Ann is a very professional and experienced teacher and HK'er.  I have been particularly impressed with the way she has always been there for all the students, in-between each stage of the course and also since we have qualified.  She has always been very quick in responding to emails and phone calls regarding any query or problems we may have with understanding something about HK and even now, she emails us regularly with interesting thoughts and information that she and other students have come across.
So the support network feels as if it just grows stronger as do the friendships. Jan Edgar

I cannot praise HK and particularly your teaching of it more highly.  You have inspired me, guided me and help me find a side to myself that although I knew was there, I wasn't able to access!  I don't quite know what else to say without sounding too corny! Arabella Oswald

"I have never before in my life learned so much so easily, with so much enjoyment and satisfaction! And finally I feel really well equipped to look after my family, myself, my friends and the odd paying client." Irmgard Gwilt-Schaller

'The training programme for health kinesiology has, quite simply, changed my life.  It's hard work, with plenty of studying and practical work required between modules but the programme is very structured and we all received continual support throughout the  training.  As well as gaining the knowledge and confidence to be a health kinesiologist I've had lots of fun, made many new friends and  found a new way of looking at life through my reading and the healing I've received.'  Cathy Gledson.

- I have learnt a huge amount about myself over the last year
- One of the things that I really like about HK  is the way that the training is organised in stages and each stage is complete within itself.  I really appreciated the fact that I could do Stage 1 and possibly Stage 2 without necessarily going any further.
 - The level of support both during the course and once I'd returned home was exceptional
- The course caters for people who are at very different stages of development.  When I started, I knew very little about energy work, whereas other people were already practising other therapies ie. reflexology.
-  Each Stage is pretty action packed - you learn a huge amount in a short space of time.
- As you move from one stage to another, you can actually feel yourself becoming more energy aware and more effective as a therapist
Pauline Cronin

Being an over 50 and exceedingly learning rusty, I started the course purely to be able to do some work on myself ( that's what I thought anyway ). HK had other ideas & after Stage 1 ( 4 intense but extremely enjoyable days ) I had been expertly tutored into a Student Practitioner.

After stage 2 I was hooked and such is the quality of teaching and learning that I BELIEVED in myself becoming a practitioner. Before I knew it I was at Stage 5 and armed with an impressive menu to work from. The continuing support between the stages is impressive and priceless.

If you are professional in your outlook and it is important to you then this is the course you should be on. These are my own words. You can call me and I will tell you the same again and again. Bill Stenlake, Devon

I embarked on the HK training course having experienced HK treatment for myself and already knowing that HK was an amazing therapy, in the hope of finding a new career that I could get really excited about.  My expectations were completely surpassed.  The quality of teaching was absolutely first class and the level of support was fantastic.  I feel both delighted and honoured to have been through the HK Training program and an added bonus is how it has helped me personally, not just in terms of improving my own health, but also by aiding personal growth as my life has changed direction. Sue Hambleton

" Learning how to become a Health Kinesiology Practitioner has been a major milestone in my life.  I became interested in the course through my sessions as a client of Sandie Lovell.  I was amazed by the accuracy that the testing provided and the ability of the therapy to work on many different levels all at once.  In particular I found that HK worked at the pace I was confortable with, and Sandie's open manner gave me the confidence to look at the root causes of my problems.
I have not looked back since I became a student at HK 1 and have found Ann Parker's tuition of the highest standard.  The courses have an excellent mix of practical and theoretical work.  As students we have worked hard but have received a great deal of support whenever we have needed it.  The email network is a particularly quick and simple way of gaining advice and information.  Ann has encouraged me every step of the way and I feel that she personally invests a lot of time and energy in every one of her students.  It is obvious that a lot of thought and preparation has gone into creating the HK modules so that work is broken down into manageable pieces.  I feel I have been given excellent guidance and as a result, will be confidently practising by the time I am qualified." Amy Carter Sheffield

In recent months I am realising just what an impact HK has had on my life and the lives of others.  Personally I have become more patient.  This is something I never thought I would say about myself!  I thoroughly enjoyed the training.  Although with HK the training is ongoing.  I am always learning new things.  HK makes me realise how much we take our wonderful bodies for granted.  I cease to be amazed at some of the corrections I do for clients - how spot on it is for them and their current needs.
I look forward to it becoming mainstream in the not too distant future. Mary Jenvey

The HK training has been an incredible life-changer both for myself and my case studies.  The training started when I received the pre-course literature to help me prepare for the first course.  This was a good indication of the impetus of HK training as a whole.  Even during the first
course we covered a lot of work with some relatively easy corrections that I could use immediately to make a positive difference for myself and for other people's lives.  Each subsequent course has been even more far-reaching and I have already helped people in various areas of their lives.  The onus is very much on supporting and encouraging people to take charge of their own lives, health and circumstances.  The benefits people have gained after working with me have varied from dramatic, apparently instant improvements, to more subtle, just feeling better about things.  The course requires commitment & practice between the courses.  The only way to become an excellent HK practitioner is to use the wealth of information and corrections gained through the training.  Julie Tasker
